Chaos at Sea and Port Congestion

In this update, we’ll briefly inform you about the situation and what it could mean for your shipment.

International container shipping is in chaos. Due to unpredictable trade policies from the United States, no fewer than 80 container vessels have been taken out of service worldwide — about 20% of total capacity. This is having a significant impact on global logistics chains, causing delays and disruptions to both imports and exports.

In addition, European ports are increasingly being avoided by shipping lines. Reasons include severe congestion, overcrowded terminals, and delayed expansion projects. This further disrupts logistical processing.

What does this mean for you?

Shipments may experience delays, be rerouted, or rolled. Space availability on vessels is currently very limited, leading to rising transportation costs.
