Do you import products from outside the European Union? Then this is an important point of attention.
As of 1 July 2026, various TARIC commodity codes have been updated. As a result, some existing commodity codes may have expired or been replaced by new ones.
A TARIC code determines, among other things, the applicable import duties and whether additional regulations or import licences apply. Using an incorrect code may lead to customs delays, incorrect import declarations, additional costs, or even penalties.
We therefore recommend checking whether the commodity codes for your products are still up to date. In particular, verify whether:
- your current TARIC code is still valid;
- a new code now applies;
- the changes affect import duties or other customs requirements;
- your internal systems, product database, or customs instructions need to be updated.
