On Friday, September 4, 2026, FNV Havens is organizing a nationwide strike in the Dutch seaports. In the port of Rotterdam, among others, no ship handling will be carried out between 11:15 and 19:00. This can affect the loading and unloading of containers, as well as securing, towing and inspection of cargo.
The strike is part of FNV’s actions against proposed cuts to social security. The union wants the plans, including cuts to unemployment benefits (WW) and disability benefits (WIA), to be withdrawn.
